Summer Sundays with DIYkids!

Join DIYkids for a ‘Summer Sunday’ 2015 drop-in workshop. The DIYkids workshops will each feature not just one, but two fun activities.

Workshops on August 9th and August 16th will include the following two activities, aimed at kids between the ages of 3 and 7:

  • DIY Magnets™
In the first part of the workshop, participants will create bespoke magnets to take home. Re-purpose your own itty bitty pics, or be inspired by materials on hand.
  • Spectacular Slime™
The second part of the workshop features your budding artist getting down and dirty to create their very own palette of watercolour slime using kid-safe, basic pantry items.

In mid-August, our focus will shift to Back to School.  Each workshop happening on August 23, August 30, and September 6 (all Sunday mornings) will include the following two activities aimed at kids between the ages of 3 and 7:

  • DIY Pencil Case
Don't Settle for a blah generic pencil case when you can individualize!  In the first part of the workshop, we'll help your child decorate a simple pencil case to reflect their personal style.
  • Wrappers Delight Lunchbox
Create Lunchbox contents ranging from a 'very hungry' fruit caterpillar, to school-friendly PB&J sandwiches, to a selection of delicious wraps.  After the second part of the workshop your child will be set up so they are delighted by their lunch box contents.  We'll cater to food sensitivities and preferences.

These activities are both part of the DIYmake™ curriculum, where ideas, materials, and creativity are synthesized. Students handcraft  and take home household objects, while exercising fine motor skills, and learning that an everyday item can be created and customized to their liking.

Summer Sunday Workshops are happening 10am - 12pm Sunday Aug 9th to Sept 6th.  Advance registration, $20/child,  $38/2 children, or $56/3 children.

Advance Registration is the best way to secure your child's spot.  Walk-in registrations on the day of the workshop will be subject to availability at a rate of $25/child.
